Mac McClung Wins Third Consecutive NBA Slam Dunk Contest with Spectacular Performance
Mac McClung electrified the crowd at NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco, securing his third straight Slam Dunk Contest victory with a series of jaw-dropping dunks—including one over a car.
The 26-year-old, who has played just five minutes in a single NBA game this season for the Orlando Magic, received perfect 50-point scores for all four of his dunks.
In the first round, McClung soared over a car parked beneath the basket, grabbing the ball from a person holding it through the sunroof before finishing with a reverse dunk. His second dunk featured him leaping over a standing man while twisting mid-air.
For his third perfect score, McClung executed a double dunk—grabbing one ball from a man spinning on a hoverboard while simultaneously dunking another held by someone standing on a ladder.
He sealed the title by dunking over 6-foot-11 Cleveland Cavaliers center Evan Mobley, who was elevated on a small platform.
"Truly, stuff like this doesn’t happen without standing on the shoulders of a lot of people," McClung told TNT after defeating San Antonio Spurs rookie Stephon Castle in the final round. "I had a lot of help. People were opening gyms to fit a car in. People were allowing me to use their car. I’m just really grateful right now."
Despite his All-Star Weekend stardom, McClung primarily plays in the NBA’s developmental G League, where he was named MVP last season. His limited NBA experience includes just five career games across stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, and Orlando Magic.
