The National Weather Service (NWS) has just issued an air quality alert covering the South Coast Air Basin, which includes all of Orange County and parts of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, as well as the Coachella Valley.
This alert has been issued "due to harmful levels of windblown dust and ash" in the affected regions. The advisory will remain in effect until Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM local time (03:00 GMT on Thursday).
To safeguard public health, the NWS has recommended that residents in these areas take precautionary measures. This includes avoiding outdoor activities to minimize exposure to airborne particles and keeping windows and doors closed to prevent dust and ash from entering indoor spaces.
Residents are urged to remain informed about local conditions and adhere to the guidance provided to protect their health during this period of reduced air quality.
