Trump vows a wave of executive orders ahead of presidential inauguration

Summary

Donald Trump will be inaugurated for his second term as US president on Monday, just before 12:00 EST (17:00 GMT) in Washington, DC.

Traditionally held outside the US Capitol, the ceremony has been moved indoors due to a forecast of frigid temperatures, with a wind chill of -13°C.

After taking the oath of office, Trump will deliver an address to the nation, followed by a parade to the White House. The day will conclude with three inaugural balls in the evening.

An estimated 200,000 supporters are expected to gather in the city to witness the presidential power transfer.

At his final rally yesterday, Trump pledged to sign a wave of executive orders on his first day in office. Read more about the 200 planned executive actions here.
